Travel Information

Zürich is ideally located with 3 major international airports, the Zürich airport, Basel-Mulhouse airport and Geneve airport. Each of those are well connected to Zurich by train. Zurich train central station is connected to several European capitals with regular trains. In the city, public transportation are among the best in the world and by far the easiest way to commute, we recommend checking the ZVV public transport webpage and the SBB railway company for further information. Both offer Apps for your mobile phone to prepare your trip and buy your tickets.
For visitors with disability, please contact Jérôme Noir (jnoir@ethz.ch).

In Switzerland, you must have a special sticker on your windscreen if you want to take a car on motorways and expressways. It is called motorway vignette and costs CHF 40. If you are coming to Switzerland from abroad, you can buy it at customs as you enter the country, or from selected points of sale or online before entering Switzerland.

Please note: If you are driving without a vignette, you will be fined (CHF 200) and will also have to buy the vignette itself (CHF 40).

Parking in Zurich is not easy. Please contact directly Jérôme Noir (jnoir@ethz.ch) if you plan to travel by car.

Accommodation should be booked independently by participants. See Housing page for details.
